Site Changes

blargh

What’s happening?
- The site’s url is now http://pant.su.
The old address (loli.pant.su) will continue to function and redirect to this new address (for now).

Why?
- This site hasn’t been exclusively loli for months now. It’s confusing readers and frustrating administrators.

What’s the new RSS feed address?

But I only want loli content.
- Bookmark or only visit the loli category. Or just don’t download things labeled hentai. Hentai posts go in the Hentai (変態) category. Loli posts are put into a Loli (ロリ) category. If a post contains loli and hentai it goes into both categories.

Are you going to post less loli content now?
- No. I just uploaded, wrote and scheduled 40 posts of loli content.

  • Thank you for your work so far. Please, dont stop posting loli everyday. This site has been my main source for a long time xD.

  • yare yare, as long there are loli i’m happy and satisfied.

  • will there be two different RSS feeds, for both category each?

  • >Len
    thx :D

  • Keep up the work, admins, I love both so it’s a good change either way. ;)

BTW, I can contribute more ponz.info works if you don’t have them. :)

  • So the feed is?

    http://pant.su/index.php/feed/

    I love both too :P

  • Thank you Len for the update. Thanks for all the nice post, L or not, I enjoy most of them. Keep up the good work, you rock!

  • Hey NeoMan033, please do contribute! Ponzu is quite rare stuffs aroud here so don’t hesitate. :D

  • I guess it couldn’t be helped. Loli manga are just not as abundant as other manga. Though it’s still sad to see the site name and url changed. I really like the name “Loli Pantsu”.

I hope loli manga are still the site main focus. Oh yeah, DFC manga is fine too ^^

  • Noooooo! What have you done with my lolis?! T_T

  • Also, what cb said. I miss that name…

  • Well, it’s your decision. But I mind that it’s a lost of identily.
This site was the one site with just loli-hentai material.

    ___
I’m sorry if my engish is badest, I speak spanish XD.

  • >Yutachi
Yes, that feed will show all posts.
    http://pant.su/index.php/feed/

    >cb_pedobear
This isn’t about abundance, it’s about stopping the double standards and unclear expectations people have of this site. The most popular post on this site last month (this) contains no loli content.

    >NeoMan033
Feel free to mail me (I’ll still use loli.pant.su[at]gmail.com for now) or post something here.

  • >stopping the double standards and unclear expectations people have of this site

What double standards and unclear expectations? We come to a loli site to download loli. It’s always been pure loli up until the last couple of months or two. Now it’s heading towards “just another hentai site”.

  • >Anonymous
“Now it’s heading towards “just another hentai site”.”
-I disagree with that. Len has a very good taste. That makes the difference.

    >Len
Thanks! I’ll update my feeds right away ^^

  • I agree that it is a loss of the site’s identity that made it known throughout the net and that made me refer it to a lot of people.

Hentai sites are overly abundant on the Internet. Loli-only sites that feature a release each day were non-existent - to my knowledge - until Loli Pantsu came.

If one doesn’t want loli, I feel like he should go to another site as there are plenty.

Why did you start posting non-loli in the first place? For popularity? I personally don’t give a damn about it, and you shouldn’t either, right? Quality should matter over quantity.

My favourite Loli site isn’t loli anymore, and seriously, I feel betrayed.

And what about all the loli-only sites that refer(ed?) to this site as “Loli Pantsu”, the ONLY exclusively loli posting blog on the net?

“Unclear expectations”? Just clarify them instead of throwing away what is unique about the site to make it fit in the mass.

    @ Yutachi,

“-I disagree with that. Len has a very good taste. That makes the difference.”

That is a matter of taste. “Loli” is a matter of a niche often forgotten, and that encompasses many people that enjoy it. The second is by far a less biased standard than the first.

  • Azarius spoke out my feeling which I couldn’t put into words a while ago. I too bookmarked this site as my favorite loli site and visit it every single days. What make Loli Pantsu special among the masses is its loli-only materials. Losing this unique aspect would only make this site–well, like other have said–”just another hentai site”.

  • My god, what a disgusting sense of entitlement some of you have.

In case you didn’t notice, this site runs at a loss. There are no ads, cash-links or shitty uploading.com mirrors. Someone is paying money to keep this site running.

    Here’s a summary of what’s happened:
    - Len makes loli post “A” and well-tagged hentai release “B”.
    - Instead of not downloading “B” and thanking Len for “A”, people bitch.
    - Len makes a loli-only section of the site so people don’t even have to see posts like “B” at all.
    - People still bitch; this time about bullshit like “identity” and “uniqueness”.
    Get fucked.

I’ve lurked and watched this site for the last year. In case you didn’t notice “loli” didn’t make this place special, the people running it did.

Despite server troubles, MULTIPLE wipes of EVERY file and a link-reporting bot that probably STILL visits this place, this site hasn’t rolled over and died like so many others have. Instead it has grown and thrived. I can’t imagine how much time and dedication that takes.

Now it’s finally expanding and a few self-entitled users are whining and acting as if this place owes them something, and they’ve actually contributed nothing to it at all.

Len, ignore these whiners and post whatever you want to. Keep up the great work.

  • Thanks to everyone for their input. I didn’t know people were so passionate and attached to the name and principle of loli.pant.su.

I’ll see if it’s possible to link the ‘loli.pant.su’ address to the loli category of the site, so if you choose to visit that url the site would essentially be the same as it was before.

There also appears to be some confusion about exactly what’s going to change:
Essentially nothing apart from the url. Any hentai posts I choose to write would be in addition to the usual loli posts, they’re not replacing them.

  • @ Anon,

Although I rarely contributed directly to the site - and I did so only back in Nir’s time - I try to contribute to the loli fan’s net community as much as I can.

I’m not whining. I’m giving my opinion about changes to the website I visit the most often after my own personal page.

    @ Len,

I’ll stop giving negative feedback and actually give some ideas: why don’t you do two distinct parts of the Webpage, one being the “original” Loli Pantsu to which many - including myself obviously - are attached, and the other being either a general or a hentai-only blog using Loli Pantsu as a canvas.

Nothing would keep the two from linking easily to each other, and pretty much everyone would be happy. If you need any help, I’d gladly do whatever I can.

  • I don’t hate this site because it change name into pant.su

but I love this site because the name of loli.pant.su

  • Len, I hope you are getting my e-mails. I’ve sent some, and so far they have been delayed, and then unsendable.

  • I’m sorry, but I want to say that.
    I only need loli.
    I come here for loli.

not for mother, not for office lady, not for big breast.

many people come here just want loli, like me.

  • >John
I have replied to the one email I received.

    >Azarius
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll see if it’s possible to implement something like that.

  • Len,

I think you put in an amazing effort and side strongly with the non-whiners. I disprove of any who wish to increase your workload. Your bookmark will remain at the top of my most visited sites list regardless of what you decide.

I appreciate loli mostly because the story content is better, for lots of structural reasons I don’t need to go into. I’m not so stuck in loli that I can’t appreciate good quality in regular hentai. Its just harder to find (IMHO).

  • If you’ll make loli.pant.su link to loli only material, will pant.su still have updates of both? It seems easier when I can browse all new material on one site.

  • >neoman033
    Yes, that’s the idea.

  • All I can say is “keep up the good work”, because this is an amazing site. Always something new on each visit!

It’s also great seeing that you’ll keep the loli.pant.su URL, because it’s such an amusing one :) Would be sad seeing that one go, although I’d still visit even if you would change it permanently.

  • I don’t have much to say about this… I came looking for loli and bookmarked it because I was pretty satisfied with the quantity and selection.

I started coming here more often after the scanlators I followed either stopped releasing or started doing crapfloods of MILF titles… because this remained a safe haven tucked away from the userbase of the ZOMG HORNY UHEG TITS N ASS from the scanlators’ sites, and the AIDS-infected *chans which had their loli boards constantly flooded with either random requests or fugly “daddy” photo-realistic 3D CGI.

The only problem I have with the nonloli content being thrown in, is that it could potentially attract that kind of users, and make this place into the shithole the others have become.
You see, because it’ll attract people who only seek that kind of stuff, and then they’ll infest the rest of the material.
“What is this shit? You disgusting pedophiles!”
“Haha, you know, where I come from theres this thing called BOOBS”
“Why is this here? Please remove this, it’s nothing like the other good ones.”
“Yo whats dis shit, I came here lookin for some nice ASS!”
    etc…

In essence, I believe it has the potential to fag up the place a lot, and that’s what concerns me.

On another note, the .dlc files, being the mixture of annoyance and convenience that they are, have been troubling me a bit for the fact that they have no mime-type associated to them, and that kind of makes it hard to tell the browser what to do.

.dlc is a pretty obscure format as of now, so your web server probably treats it as a random binary file and sends application/octet-stream as the type…
Now, I’ve tried looking around for an “official” subtype for .dlc, but I haven’t found any so I’ll just suggest one:

    application/prs.pant.su-dlc

    based on: http://anonym.to/?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mime_type

    prs. because it’s a personally-made type
pant.su it’s for this domain only, after all (for now)
-dlc defines the type of the file (you could add other nonstandard types someday if you need)

Doing this should be extremely simple, and while it adds new functionality, users who don’t want to take advantage of this would be unaffected.

An example of how to do it with Apache:
    http://anonym.to/?http://bignosebird.com/apache/a1.shtml

  • @UhClem (reply on my blog)
uh… If I wanted to save the .dlc and /then/ launch JDownloader, then I’d already have everything I needed.
I’m talking about the “Open With…” option >in the browser< permanently knowing what to do.

Browsers treat files based on the mime type sent by the server, and pant.su is saying it’s an “application/octet-stream” which translates to “lol i dunno, just download it”.

If you were to make this change, next time anyone’s browser tries to download a .dlc, it’ll say: “hey, this is a dlc file, what do you want me to do?” (similar to what it does now).

This time, with a proper mime type being received, the user may choose “open with JDownloader” and make it permanent by clicking the “do this automatically for files like this from now on” checkbox.

Next time that user clicks on a dlc, it’ll just pop up JDownloader and load it automatically.

Either that, or keep doing the same.

Also, this is platform independent, and should have the same behavior in all browsers. No OS-specific trickery such as windows registry involved.

Now, I’ve already linked to an example on how to do this, but since then I’ve been experimenting with the webspace provided by my University for me to use.
I think the web server is Apache, but I only have access to my own directory, so after reading ttp://www.flashcentral.com/Tech/Server/Apache.htm I decided to give the simple .htaccess file a try.

    This is what I did:
    - created an empty file in my ~/web/ folder (where the files being served are)
    - opened the file and put this single line:
    AddType application/.prs.pant.su-dlc dlc
    - renamed the file to .htaccess

Before doing this, the .dlc were just treated as plain text (Firefox displayed them raw).
After this, Firefox asked me “This is a DLC file, what do you want to do?” and I could choose a default action for it and make it permanent.

Also, the change applied to all .dlc files in that directory AND in all subdirectories as well.

  • I put some more updates as comments in my web blag…
    …I feel disappointed.

I hope you at least are your own admins.

To define a MIME type for a specific extension, follow these steps:

    1. Open the IIS Microsoft Management Console (MMC), right-click the local computer name, and then click Properties.
    2. Click MIME Types.
    3. Click New.
    4. In the Extension box, type the file name extension that you want (for example, .pdb).
    5. In the MIME Type box, type application/octet-stream.
    6. Apply the new settings. Note that you must restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service or wait for the worker process to recycle for the changes to take effect. In this example, IIS now serves files with the .pdb extension.

IIS… who the fuck uses IIS for Wordpress…

  • For DLC you can try right click save target as
    instead of left clicking it.
    Just my 2 yen…

  • Custom MIME type is actually a pretty neat idea.

Set it as an application/octet-stream simply so that a browser should/will ask you to save the file. Any browser that doesn’t is just being an asshole.

Never really thought much about associating applications based on mime-type. But that is clearly a good idea.

As for IIS, it’s a windows server. Windows because it needs to run windows applications (the server is more than just a webserver. pant.su is pretty low impact for now, and in no way requires its own dedicated server. It just happens to, more or less, have one.) IIS because, well, never much liked apache on windows.

  • \o/ It werks! \o/

The days of cleaning up DLCs after importing are over!

    Thank you :D
